Nickel Cadmium rechargeable batteries are rechargeable and used in motorised equip[ment e.g.: Power Tools, Medical Instruments, Emergency Lamps, electric Razors etc.
These are not the most environmet friendly type of battery and are gradually being phased out and replaced by the Nickel Metal Hydride battery.
To avoid a "Memory Effect" they need to be completely discharged once a month and fully recharged.
